TODAES strives to achieve fast review turnarounds such that the first-round review decisions are made within 60 days on average. It publishes one volume every year. Each volume comprises six issues, which appear bi-monthly. TODAES welcomes the following types of submissions:

    Regular Research Papers
    Keynotes
    Surveys
    Tutorials
    Designer Notes

Potential authors are encouraged to consult the information for authors for the description of the above article types and detailed submission information. Special Issue on Large Language Models for Electronic System Design Automation
截稿日期: 2024-09-30

Guest Editors • Robert Dick: Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Dept., University of Michigan • Hammond Pearce: School of Computer Science and Engineering, University of New South Wales • Li Shang: School of Computer Science, Fudan University • Fan Yang: School of Microelectronics, Fudan University Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Llama stand to revolutionize the engineering process, and it is likely that Electronic (System) Design Automation (EDA) will be profoundly impacted. The landscape of modern electronic system design is characterized by staggering complexity, ranging from the intricacies of embedded system software/hardware co-design to the optimization of integrated circuits at the billion-transistor scale. This intricacy, coupled with the pressing demand to minimize time- to-market, opens numerous opportunities for automation to improve the design process. LLMs are already enabling significant advances in this area and may transform EDA field in the future. Several recent applications of LLMs to EDA problems include the automated generation and optimization of microprocessors and ASICs, analog circuits, embedded system software, and system-level software- hardware designs. Research thus far has demonstrated advantages over traditional design automation methodologies. However, the application of LLMs in EDA is still at an exciting, nascent stage in which the potential is becoming clear, but many important problems remain unsolved. Theories specific to this domain are under active development, domain-specific models are rapidly evolving, and most existing tools are not yet mature. Topics This special issue is dedicated to showcasing the latest advancements in applying LLMs to electronic system design. Its focus is on harnessing the power of LLMs to drive innovation and enhance theories, models, algorithms, methodologies, tools, and workflows in EDA, from system-level to circuits. Examples of relevant work include, but are not limited to, how to design, instruct, train, and/or use off-the-shelf or custom LLMs as substantial components in systems solving the following problems: • embedded system and circuit modeling and analysis • microprocessor design and design optimization • high-level/logic/physical synthesis • analog circuit design and design optimization • embedded system software development • system software-hardware co-design • embedded system and circuit explanation, testing & verification Important Dates • Submissions deadline: September 30, 2024 • First-round review decisions: November 15, 2024 • Deadline for revision submissions: December 15, 2024 • Notification of final decisions: January 15, 2025 Submission Information Authors are encouraged to submit high-quality original research papers that will not require major revisions. Please clearly indicate the additional material relative to any preexisting conference paper. Submissions of relevant original work not previously presented at any conference are especially welcome. Concurrent submission to another conference or journal will result in rejection of a paper without review. All papers will be fully refereed to the usual journal standards. Submissions should be made through the ACM TODAES submission site (http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/todaes) and formatted according to TODAES author guidelines at https://dl.acm.org/journal/todaes/author- guidelines. For questions and further information, please contact the guest editors. • Robert Dick • Hammond Pearce • Li Shang • Fan Yang
